At first the quietness, the stillness, bothered me. I am used to a daily commute in London full of noise and people and bodies. Sweaty, personal-space-invading, hustle and bustle. Now everything has stopped. I am slowly starting to really enjoy the lack of human noise. Just bird song and breeze and the gentle waves lapping at the creek in Benfleet, my home town. The Thames Estuary is rejuvenating itself. Now I question how I will ever get on the London Underground again!
