I took a short trip to Sierra Leone recently for a week of rest and relaxation with good friends following the end of my chemotherapy treatment. Sierra Leone remains a dear place in my heart and the beaches are so beautiful, a great place to restore health. I did find some time for some photography with The Place resort though and visiting the local school that they fund was a real joy. Students in Sierra Leone work so hard and know they importance of a good education. I also love the way so many people in Sierra Leone are not scared to stare right into the camera – this girl is fierce, strong and wants to study! Great qualities in a young woman!
