There is so much darkness in the world today. As human beings we are born with such potential for light, love, grace and joy but also of course the potential to spread hate and darkness. Most people I meet on my travels show their potential for the former rather than the latter.

These two little girls were sat next to me on a mat at a religious ceremony in India last week. They were teasing me and using their hands to make their own ‘cameras’. Without any shared language, with many years between us, and a whole world of cultural difference we were still able to laugh together.

Today is a sad day in a world that seems increasingly dark. I have chosen this image to remind myself, and hopefully others, that there is a lot of light in our world too.
