I recently spent time in Kailahun, Sierra Leone, to find out about life after Ebola in one of the regions first affected by the outbreak. Returning to Sierra Leone and seeing a country I love still struggling to get to grips with Ebola and its impact was tough. However; there were also stories of hope and resilience and some of the individuals I got to meet were totally inspirational. I cannot imagine losing my loved ones, contracting an often deadly disease myself and then losing my home and yet that is what many Ebola survivors have gone through. Some of those same individuals, in spite of the immense hardships they have faced over the past year, are still able to have hope for the future. I spent time in Kailahun for All We Can and you can read some of the stories of recovery and restoration as told to me here. All We Can is working with The Methodist Church of Sierra Leone to support Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) survivors in the region.
