Serekunda Market, The Gambia

I am currently in The Gambia having a very different sort of Christmas. My husband and I have spent most of the time relaxing and I have been catching up on books I have wanted to read for a long time. Of course I still brought my camera along for the ride and last week we spent a fun morning navigating the hustle and bustle of Gambia’s largest market. Here are some of the sights and beautiful people I encountered in Serekunda….
Serekunda Market in The Gambia is the biggest in the country and sells just about everything!
The breakfast seller makes porridge for early morning shoppers
Spices stacked up high in the market.
The bright colours of the fruit and vegetables matched only by the bright colours of the women’s clothes.
A women seeks shade and rest opposite the breakfast sellers.
Fish, fish and more fish!
Two friends working together to make the sale.
A proud market seller sits in the middle of the crowded market place.
Beautiful, rich photos! Well done!
Lovely pictures. Nicely documented.
